Debbie Hayes is a lifelong Arlington resident, a graduate of Hardy School, the Jr. High East and Arlington High School.  Debbie devoted her entire work career to the youth of Arlington.  After college, Debbie began her career in the Arlington Recreation Department, working as a park leader at Hardy and Thorndike parks, starting the shared Rec Dept. and Fidelity House Preschool program and then working her way up to Superintendent.  Debbie's greatest joy was offering the best recreation for the families of Arlington.  She was so proud of all of the wonderful playgrounds she helped to design during her tenure.  After 30 years with Arlington Rec, Debbie switched gears and went to work for the Arlington Boys & Girls Club where, in her youth, she was amongst the first group of girls to attend the Boys Club on their one designated day.  Debbie's quiet, understated and incredibly strong work ethic resonated throughout the Boys & Girls Club where she touched virtually every aspect of the Club's programs.  She served as an incredible mentor to so many of the youth of Arlington and also to her colleagues.  Her influence on Arlington's youth is nothing short of transformative.
